What is a Psychiatric Evaluation?
A psychiatric evaluation is an assessment of an individual’s mental, biological, and social functioning, based on the person’s present problems and symptoms. The evaluation may result in the diagnosis of a mental health condition, followed by a treatment plan outlining the goals of therapy, which may include psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy (medications), or both. We also offer online psychiatric evaluations for many conditions through our Telepsychiatry Services. Our goal at Mas Vida Medical Center is to help each individual achieve his or her goals for a psychologically healthy and fulfilling life.
Psychosocial rehabilitation (also called psychiatric rehabilitation or PSR) promotes personal recovery, successful community integration, and a satisfactory quality of life for people who have a mental illness or mental health problem. They focus on helping people rediscover skills and access community resources to increase their ability to succeed and feel fulfilled in the living, working, learning, social environments of their choice and changing their quality of life both personally and family.

Maybe you feel stuck at this point in your life, unsure of what you need or the steps you can take to feel better. Individual therapy is to learn and understand yourself, you may experience some challenges during the process. By understanding the barriers that stand in your way and learning to let go of self-limiting beliefs about yourself, you can find your voice and purpose. Families often need to turn to outside help. Realizing it is the first step. It makes sense that you want family problems to remain private. Unfortunately, this can only continue negative interactions and can lead to a lifetime of troubled family dynamics. Families need each other, in good times and bad. Recognizing that there is dysfunction and taking steps to try to improve the dynamic can be a life lesson for all family members. By restoring balance in the family, parents and children can support each other instead of being a continuous source of stress for everyone. To guide the family toward healthy living, our family therapists at Mas Vida Medical Center join you to help improve communication, resolve family issues, heal past traumas, and create a healthier home environment.
